SIXTH REGULAR COMMON COUNCIL MEETING FOR THE 2019-2020 COUNCIL YEAR

Mayor’s announcements:
- A free Phragmites Control Workshop will be held on June 26 at Maywood. The workshop presenters will discuss the project overview, planning efforts, landowner expectations, project timeline, communication plan and ways you can help with the control efforts. In order to develop a truly collaborative and effective control strategy, this project needs assistance from landowners.
- The Pop-up Shop application deadline is June 28. The City of Sheboygan, Harbor Centre, and Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation announce the launch of the downtown Sheboygan pop-up shop initiative a proven model to grow Downtown retail. Visit harborcentre.com/pop-up-shop for the application criteria and application.
- Levitt Amp Music Series begins on Thursday, June 20 at the City Green At 6:00 pm. The opening act is The Shebeegeebees featuring Lakeland University Professor Ric Dodgson. At 7:00 pm the featured act Viento Callejero will take the stage. The group includes GRAMMY-nominated accordion and guitar player Gloria Estrada. The group is referred to as “a band that musicians go to watch,” Viento Callerjero offers a fresh and groundbreaking perspective on urban tropical music, stripping its sounds to their rawest elements and delivering an intricate and innovative incarnation of the Latin music movement in Los Angeles.
- Sheboygan Pops Concert Band first concert of the season will be Wednesday, June 26. The band performs FREE summer concerts in Fountain Park at 6:30 pm every other Wednesday.
- Just a reminder that there will be no Council meeting on July 1, the next Council meeting will be on July 15.
- Enjoy Sheboygan’s Freedom Fest sponsored by Plenco, Festival Foods, and Wisconsin Bank and Trust. Have a great 4th of July celebration.
Council passed a resolution recognizing the nine years of service by Dolcye Johnson as a member on the Mead Library Board.
Council approved a welcome reception at Blue Harbor for the delegation visiting from our Sister City Esslingen, Germany.
Council approved a contract to construct the tennis courts and add new pickleball courts at Vollrath Park.
Council approved a contract with Abacus Architects for architectural services and engineering services for the renovation of the Municipal Service Building locker room.
Council approved a contract for concrete paving of N. 15th Street from Niagara Avenue to Wisconsin Avenue.
Council approved the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) of the City of Sheboygan and the findings and management response related to the CAFR for the year ended December 31, 2018, prepared by CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP (CLA).
Council authorized entering into a contract for sale of land to the east of the Boat Doctors for private development with Office Service Company, LLP.
Council approved entering into a Municipal Advisory Agreement for Municipal Advisor services regarding the sale of municipal bonds in 2019.
