SEVENTH REGULAR MEETING OF THE 2020-2021 COMMON COUNCIL

Council conducted an election to fill the vacant seat of the 2nd District Alderperson. Roberta Filicky-Peneski and Travis Gross applied and were nominated to be considered for this election. Council elected Roberta Filicky-Peneski as the new Alderperson to serve as the representative for District 2 until the Spring Election in April 2021.
Mayor Vandersteen read the Inclusion and Respect Statement and the Equity Statement that Administrator Hofland instituted after consulting with City Department Heads and Council Leadership. These statements will guide the internal operations of the City as we continue to eliminate racial disparities and support efforts to welcome diversity.
Mayor Vandersteen recognized former Alderperson Val Schultz who recently passed away and asked the Common Council to observe a moment of silence in recognition of his service to the City of Sheboygan as Alderperson and Council President
Mayor Vandersteen introduced new City Administrator Todd Wolf who will begin his employment with the City on July 7, 2020.
Council approved Resolution No. 39-20-21 authorizing the appropriate City officials to enter into a State/Municipal Agreement to transfer $1,440,000 CMAQ (Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality) funds to the City of Sheboygan to fund 80% of the cost to purchase five fixed route clean diesel buses for the Shoreline Metro bus fleet.
Council approved Resolution No. 35-20-21 authorizing the IT Director to enter into a Contract with Ontech Systems, Inc. for an IT Security Assessment.
Council approved Resolution No. 36-20-21 authorizing the appropriate City officials to sign Amendment #2 to the Joint Sewage Treatment Agreement between the Town of Sheboygan Sanitary District #2 and the City of Sheboygan.
Council approved Resolution No. 37-20-21 authorizing the appropriate City officials to enter into an agreement with Hauke Plumbing & Heating, Inc. for the replacement of six heaters in the vehicle garage at Shoreline Metro.
Council approved Resolution No. 38-20-21 authorizing the appropriate City officials to enter into an agreement with Kaschak Roofing, Inc. for the complete replacement of the roof at the Shoreline Metro Transportation facility.
Council approved Resolution No. 41-20-21 commemorating the distinguished service of Dennis A. Baumann to the City of Sheboygan as 3rd District Alderperson between the years of 1991 to 2005.
Council approved Resolution No. 42-20-21 authorizing the acceptance of 1402 Union Avenue from Wisconsin Bank & Trust for the purpose of re-selling the property.
Council approved Resolution No. 43-20-21 authorizing application for the Wisconsin Election Commission Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Subgrant Program.
Council approved Resolution No. 34-20-21 adopting the addition of 2021 Action Items and Critical Measurements to the City of Sheboygan 2017-2021 Strategic Plan.
Council approved General Ordinance No. 7-20-21 amending Section 110-202 of the Municipal Code so as to authorize the chief of police or his or her designee to make decisions regarding the appropriate location of a street festival when proposed to be on a through street.
