Smoke Detector Program
The elderly and very young are the most vulnerable to injury or death due to fire. The best way to defend yourself is to have working smoke alarms. Wisconsin code requires 10-year tamper-proof smoke alarms – which means no battery replacement and no climbing ladders every year to replace batteries. You can purchase smoke detectors at any hardware store and if you need assistance installing, you can contact the Sheboygan Fire Department at 920-459-3321 or email nicholas.noster@sheboyganwi.gov and we will assist in physically installing smoke alarms. If you own your home and need financial assistance in purchasing smoke alarms, the Sheboygan Fire Department may be able to assist with this as well. You must live in the city to qualify for these programs some restrictions do apply – call 920-459-3321 to inquire.
Stay safe – smoke alarms save lives.
