After careful consideration, the City of Sheboygan has made the decision to cancel the city-sponsored 4th of July Freedom Fest parade and festivities at Deland Park that were scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Also canceled is the Venetian Boat Parade held on July 3, 2020 at dusk in the Sheboygan River sponsored by the Sheboygan Yacht Club. As of today, April 30, 2020, the 4th of July fireworks sponsored by Festival Foods are planned to happen at dusk on July 4, 2020. Should Governor Evers’ Badger Bounce Back plan not allow larger group gatherings by July 4, 2020, city staff will make a final decision on June 1, 2020 and the fireworks will be moved to Saturday, September 5, 2020, Labor Day weekend.
The City of Sheboygan would like to thank our continued sponsors of the event: Plenco, Festival Foods, and Wisconsin Bank and Trust. The city is organizing alternate plans for launching of the fireworks for 2020, 2021, and 2022 based on the reconstruction of the South Pier by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Watch for additional details in the future.
