Sheboygan, Wisconsin – October 1, 2024 – The City of Sheboygan is pleased to announce the upcoming Landlord Training Program on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at City Hall in the Council Chambers. This informative session aims to equip landlords with essential knowledge and resources to effectively manage their properties.
The registration deadline for this program is Friday, October 25, 2024, and the cost to attend is $15.
What You Can Expect to Learn:
- How code compliance can protect your rights as a landlord.
- Fair and legal practices for tenant screening and their benefits.
- Actions to take if illegal activities are discovered on your property.
- An overview of legal rights and responsibilities for both tenants and landlords.
- Warning signs of human trafficking and what to do if you notice suspicious activities.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights from a local attorney specializing in landlord/tenant law, as well as representatives from various departments, including the City of Sheboygan Planning, Police, Fire, and Building Inspection Departments, the Sheboygan County MEG Unit, the Sheboygan County Public Health Department, and the Sheboygan County Human Trafficking Task Force.
The program fee of $15 includes a 100+ page resource manual, training materials, and light refreshments.
