The City of Sheboygan and Lakeshore Community Action Program are proud to announce a Mortgage Assistance Program for City of Sheboygan homeowners who have been affected by COVID-19. Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by the United States Congress on March 27, 2020, the City of Sheboygan received two allocations of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-COVID1 & 3 (CDBG0-CV1 and CV3) funds. The City has partnered with Lakeshore CAP to develop a new mortgage assistance program with the CV3 funds for low-to-moderate income households affected by a loss of income related to the COVID pandemic on making timely mortgage payments.

Eligible households must:
- Reside within the City of Sheboygan city limits.
- Own the home they reside in.
- Have a current income of less than 80% County Median Income (further information is in the pre-screen).
- Not be eligible for forbearance.
- Have had a COVID related loss of income that has caused mortgage payments to be past due.
