City Clerk Meredith DeBruin announced today a change in a polling place for the City of Sheboygan for the April 7, 2020 election due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. “Unfortunately, some building owners are unable to host polling places for this election,” said Meredith DeBruin. “We apologize for the late change, but we are taking steps to notify everyone by postcard of the new location.”
The following polling place has changed for Wards 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10:
- Evangelical Free Church at 1710 N. 15th Street, Sheboygan has been moved to City Hall at 828 Center Avenue, Sheboygan (parking and entrance on the north side of City Hall)
Even though polling places will be open on election day, Meredith DeBruin urges voters in the City of Sheboygan to avoid polling places and vote absentee by mail instead. Please visit myvote.wi.gov/en-us/VoteAbsentee by April 2 to request a ballot be sent to you. “We want everyone who is eligible and who wants to vote to be able to do so safely. Absentee voting will greatly reduce crowds at polling places on Election Day, which will make social distancing much easier.”
Voters can also drop off absentee ballots at polling places.
