Looking for a quick and easy way to report a non-emergency incident or to request information from the City of Sheboygan? Consider using Sheboygan’s Tyler Incident Management portal – this enables two-way communication between citizens and City staff.
The Tyler Incident Management portal provides citizens the ability to submit requests via the City website or with their “Click2Report” app. Requests are grouped by which City department is responsible for their resolution: Building Inspection, City Clerk, City Development, Public Works, or Police Department. Some of the expected popular issues are potholes, code enforcement, nuisance complaints, missed garbage collection, snow removal complaint, street light, street signs, tall grass complaint, garbage, graffiti, or dog issues. Incidents can be submitted anonymously.
To access the web-based Tyler Incident Management portal, go to sheboyganwi.gov and in the lower right side click on the icon of the red “Submit” button to report violations. Then follow the directions to submit a non-emergency request. It is necessary to identify the location of the issue. If this is a request for information use your home address.
To use the Tyler Incident Management app, install the free “Click2Report” app which is available for Apple and Android devices. The app allows you to take a photo and submit it with your request.
After a request is submitted through the app or the website, you receive an incident number to use for tracking purposes. You may also use the Tyler Incident Management portal to view existing incidents and see what requests are being reported by other residents. This provides for better citizen transparency to see how the City is responding to requests that are submitted.
If you’re looking to connect with your neighbors and receive communications from the City of Sheboygan, you are invited to join the Nextdoor.com community. Nextdoor is a private social network that the City of Sheboygan began to utilize in March 2014. City Planning and Development, the Police Department, the Mayor’s Office, Mead Public Library, and the Water Utility all post information to Nextdoor participants. The best feature about Nextdoor is that it allows residents in a neighborhood to connect with each other – people can seek out a trustworthy babysitter, get recommendations on who does the best paint job in town, ask for help keeping an eye out for a lost dog, quickly get the word out about a break-in, organize a Neighborhood Watch Group, find a new home for an unused bike, let neighbors know about used furniture available for pickup, or to promote a garage sale or a community event.
Recently it was brought to our attention that residents had posted a request for services from the City on Nextdoor and the request was not answered. Please realize that the City staff does not see the posts that take place between residents. The City is allowed to post information to residents, but this is a one-way communication. If you have a service request for a City Department please use Tyler Incident Management portal or call the Department.
Also we have heard some concerns that there are ads on Nextdoor. This platform is free to the City and its residents, we need this company to be successful and the ads allow Nextdoor to continue to provide the use of this program free to the City and the residents of Sheboygan.
