UPDATE 10/19/2020: Due to the recent 290% increase in positive COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has issued a formal recommendation advising against Trick or Treating. Based this information, the City of Sheboygan is retracting the previous notice from 9/22/2020 and is following the directive to recommend against Trick or Treating.

After consulting with the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, the City of Sheboygan has decided to hold and set the time for Trick or Treat on Halloween from 4:00 to 7:00 on Saturday, October 31, 2020. The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health is supportive of safe trick-or-treating with proper best practices to limit the spread of COVID-19. Avoid large outdoor and indoor gatherings such as parties, festivals, parades and attending large gatherings and social events is NOT recommended.
Residents that plan to have treats for Trick or Treat participants on Halloween are asked to turn on their porch light from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
The Public Health Trick-or-Treat Best Practices for residents are:
- If you or someone at your home are sick, DO NOT hand out treats.
- Wear a face mask that covers BOTH your mouth and nose when greeting Trick or Treat participants.
- Homeowners should make treats available by setting them on a table or tray outside instead of handing treats out individually. Avoid in-person contact.
The Public Health Trick-or-Treat Best Practices for children and their parents are:
- Stay home if sick. DO NOT trick-or-treat if you are sick.
- ONLY trick-or-treat with people you live with.
- Practice social distancing. Remain 6 feet apart from people not in your household.
- Wear a face mask that covers BOTH your mouth and nose when appropriate. This means even under/over your Halloween costume as necessary.
- Have hand sanitizer available and use before eating any candy while Trick or Treating.
- Examine all treats and wash hands before eating the treats at home.
